Overwhelmed...

As I settle into my new role as a paraprofessional, I have discovered that I have learned so much about the educational system already! I have been really overwhelmed with MAT schoolwork combined with wedding planning, but I know that once my wedding is done and over with, I will be able to focus my full attention on my studies. I am so thankful that Meet Me in the Middle by rick Wormeli (2001) is so interesting, I actually get excited when I get a chance to read this book! Now, my next task is learning more information about blogging...

Change Can Be Good!

I am currently adjusting to many changes in my life with learning how to blog, changing careers, moving to a new town, going back to school, getting married, and adjusting to a new job. I have been a clinical dietitian for the past 3 years and have found that educating patients was the most enjoyable and rewarding part of my job, so I decided to pursure my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. I recently accepted a job as a paraprofessional at the Eureka Springs High School for the experience, convenience of being 5 minutes from where I will live in less then 3 weeks, and a way to get my foot in the door. So far, I love it! I get to work with ALE, Resource, and Self Contained students, so everyday is a new challenge, never a dull moment. I also get to teach a nutrition class throughout the year to these students and work with a chef to assist me with educating the students how to plan and prepare meals, so I still get to put my nutrition background to good use. I'm very excited to be able to use this opportunity to gain teaching experience. I have lots to learn and look forward to every minute of it.
